The Mundus Group Inc. (MNDP) announced that it plans to sell its VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) vehicles under the experimental kit aircraft protocol. The cost of the kit is $240,000 without the jet turbine engine, and will be built in four sections including cockpit, duct and tail sections each with 51% assembly required by owner. RAI plans to train existing helicopter and VTOL mechanics and certify a nation wide network of service centers to service and provide support for its VTOL aircraft.
As the company has already started building aircraft parts for its kit vehicle, sales expectations are for $100 million in twelve to eighteen months. The parts have been designed, built and tested prior to shipping. A quarter of the kit parts are built with the rest to be built over the next year, as demand should accelerate the completion and certification of the V1 Vortex production model.
