WASHINGTON, DC – Vice President Joseph Biden is scheduled to address the Opening Day session of the 2010 Legislative Conference of the Building and Construction Trades Department, AFL-CIO on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. Close to 3,000 national, state, and local building trades leaders will be in attendance at this annual gathering of America’s Building Trades Unions. The theme for this year’s conference is: The Right Jobs…The Right Right Future…Right Now!

With the Vice PresidentÂ’s appearance, there will be extra security measures in place. All press/media personnel and equipment must clear security before entering the ballroom. The ballroom doors will open at 8:00 a.m. and the Vice President is scheduled to address the conference at approximately 10:00 a.m. Final media access will be 9:45 a.m.
There is no designated media parking. There are, however, parking garages and street parking located in the vicinity of the hotel. Satellite truck parking will be available on Columbia Road, NW. (a cable run of approximately 400 feet is needed).
The ballroom set-up will have a main riser throw of approximately 100 feet; and a cut riser throw of approximately 60 feet. A limited, sectioned-off, media workspace will be designated inside the ballroom, with wireless capability. All Press will be required to check-in and receive a press badge. The Press check-in booth will be located on the Terrace Level just inside the T Street, NW Entrance to the Hotel.
