Detroit Utility Company Uses Trenchless Repair technique to Replace Broken Sewer Line

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 06, 2010 ) Detroit, MI - The traditional repair method for sewer line repairs is typically performed using the "open cut" or "trench" method to gain access to the area surrounding the damaged portion of the pipe. A backhoe may be used to open and refill the work area.

Trenchless repair methods used by GB Utilities are called Cured in-Place Pipes or CIPP. The trenchless method, or CIPP causes less damage than traditional repair techniques. Thanks to CIPP, sewer line replacement doesn't have to mean ruined parking lots, sidewalks and open trenches that put your business in a a holding pattern and prevent or inhibit customer access to your facility.

Cost Effective!

Trenchless technology used by GB Utilities is the latest step in quality sewer replacement and repair with almost no impact to the surrounding environmental landscape—and it's cost-effective.

A significant portion of the United States infrastructure is badly in need of repair. Infiltration of damaged or leaking lines is overloading treatment facilities and causing pollution. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state health boards are forcing municipalities and industry to correct these problems.

Now there is an economic answer to those troubling pipelines that lie buried under streets, neighborhoods, or on complicated industrial sites. GB Utilities has the answer: the cured-in-place pipe process.

By inserting a resin impregnated felt tube into the existing pipe and curing through a unique process, the resin hardens to form a structurally sound pipe within a pipe. A robotic cutter along with a TV camera allows the operator to reinstate laterals. There is no digging required with this process!

GB Utilities has professional crews and managers that perform the following projects: gas line tap in, water line tap in, gas pipe installation, install gas line, natural gas plumbing, natural gas utilities, underground gas hookup, underground gas line, underground gas pipes, underground water hookup, underground water line, underground water lines, underground water pipes.
