(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 26, 2007 ) New York, NY -- WBLS, “Today's R&B and Classic Soul” and WLIB, New York's “Praise and Inspiration Station” have launched a major, new two-month, outdoor advertising campaign. Both WBLS and WLIB are owned and operated by Inner City Broadcasting. The campaign is being handled by award winning Hudson Valley, NY agency May Sky Inc. The WBLS campaign features two separate ads with mainstream celebrity radio hosts Steve Harvey and Wendy Williams. The creative for the WLIB ad features the station's Gospel personalities Pastor Hezakiah Walker and the gospel singer/songwriter duo Mary Mary, as well as celebrated gospel singer and preacher Byron Cage, reported Darren Press, May Sky's creative director and founder. The two-station campaign features a series of four-color "urban panels" that are appearing outside highly trafficked stations throughout the New York City subway system, on New York City MTA buses, New Jersey NJT buses and on billboards in the Jersey City and Newark, New Jersey region. "Wendy and Steve are distinct personalities yet both fit right into what has made WBLS a legend since it's inception," said Press. "WBLS is not just a radio station. For many, it's the eyes, ears and soul of NYC - it has dimension. To convey this we designed their logo in 3D and dressed it with icons of their two biggest stars - a Steve Harvey signature hat and a Wendy Williams sexy boa. On the panels and billboards we even placed a mic as if it¹s the call letters talking. It's like Steve Harvey saying, "that's me on WBLS." The WLIB ads called for a different approach, advised May Sky's founder.“Our goal was to incorporate the station's new logo and tag line that May Sky created. This (or Our focus) was very much about introducing a new brand, to visually reinforce the message that WLIB truly is Get Your praise and inspiration station, "and the place to get your praise on 24/7." The WLIB creative is framed by a celestial purple and blue cloud strewn sky and gives a sense of that up-lifting positive spirituality that WLIB is now known for. Inner City Broadcasting's VP and General Manager, Deon Levingston, called May Sky's campaign for the two stations a departure from traditional radio station ads. He continued to say, "for WBLS we wanted something more than just our call letters. This campaign shows a real interaction between WBS and on air personalities and the WLIB campaign introduces a home for New York's growing gospel audience. We're confident that this spring outdoor advertising campaign will strengthen both station's listenership and attract a new audience." May Sky Inc. is a full-service advertising/communications agency and provides media buying, graphic design, marketing concepts, branding, public relations and more. In addition to WBLS and WLIB, current clients include Gallagher's Steak House, Grand Central Oyster Bar, Ronnybrook Farm Dairy, Katharine Gibbs Schools and Gibbs Colleges, Interboro Institute, Mandl School, Industrial Management Training Institute, and Williams Lumber & Home Centers. From: May Sky Inc.http://www.mayskyinc.comTel: 845-868-3155
