Breast Augmentation Surgical procedures With Their Contradictory Safety Messages Found on Health And Beauty Tips Website

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 21, 2011 ) CHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM -- Believed to have really been fuelled in part by celebrity culture making it virtually a main stream practice – despite of the well documented risks and issues heard about.

In fact in the UK there's a place in London that has developed a 'try before buyingÂ’ option with a system called Vectra Sculpor where a person can obtain a virtual breast augmentation in order to see the likely outcomes before going under the knife. One must wonder if Katie Price wishes that this had been available before she made alterations to her anatomy. Essentially this device takes a 3 dimensional image of the body and transplants different size breasts on them to determine what they would look like after the real operation. At least this puts to bed the argument of natural looking breast augmentations with its reputation for women looking like "boobs on a stick".

This procedure appeals to all ages given the well published recent instance in the UK of a Welsh Great Grandmother, Joan Lloyd in her mid 60s who recently had a breast enlargement operation herself. She had been through a troublesome period of time in her life with the health problems and subsequent passing away of her husband so opted for a boob job in order to boost her self confidence. This woman is evidently someone who has taken care of herself through her life being an ex model and is now said to have dated guys as young as 24!

Stories like this are great, but the question that remains unanswered, is Breast Augmentation with silicon risk-free?

In America, silicon breast augmentations were previously restricted but they are now considered safe by Federal Drug Administration, the US body accountable for regulating health care and cosmetic products. This clearly sends a message that for use in the USA, silicon breast augmentations are deemed safe and have become one of the most popular options. This in spite of well published reports which at least 50 % of augmentation patients encounter some type of problem in the 1st 3 years after the procedure.

Studies show that around 320,000 females acquired breast implants in the US last year, a 214% rise since the late nineties. Canada has followed suit and approved the application of silicon breast implants too in recent times, but Pierre Blais, who is a Respected Chemist as well as former advisor to Health Canada raises major questions about the advice and guidance provided with regards to the safety of silicon breast augmentations.

His argument is the fact that the silicon gel implants supplied to the Canadian market today are very similar to those prohibited by Health Canada in 1992, but the producers of Natrelle and Mentor claim that they've improved upon their product since the 90s, but Pierre Blais disagrees. His view is that they have made a few modest aesthetic alterations, however in the end the technology underpinning it is essentially the same - so its the same product with the same issues as before.

Blais has analyzed 1000s of used breast implants throughout his career and his opinion remains that the present crop of implants may still be prone to leak or rupture. The implant producers have reported that the new generation of products use a tighter silicon barrier than before and the gel inside is less liquefied thus making the implant less likely to come loose from the outer shell.

These findings also do not wash wish a number of other experts like Robert Guidoin, professor of surgery in Université Laval's medical department in Canada. His view is that they have still not been able to stop the tiny molecules of silicone which pass through the implant's envelope so seepage of the prosthesis and interaction with tissue is inevitable. Fluids escape the implant into the person’s body and being so close to vital organs this is extremely worrying.

One dilemma with all this is that safety testing is believed to have been carried out by the organization that makes the product on behalf of the federal government - perhaps leaving any test results open to bias. Cases such as this time and time again erode the trust of governing bodies. When a person see examples of something being banned for good reason for a business to ride rough shod over this without really addressing the fundamental issues and suddenly its safe, one has to ask questions.

It stands to good reason why introducing foreign objects so near to critical body organs is always likely to have its pitfalls given that normal body tissue is dynamic in nature and synthetic fabrics are not so there will always be potential for conflict which science has yet to overcome. So what sort of health time bomb is this creating with the explosion in silicon breast augmentation?

The safer option of course is try a process of Natural Breast Enhancement which involves eating natural substances that promote the hormones which will help grow the organs involved. These are usually healthy providing they are made of organic compounds with no risk unless of course there are medical conditions. The drawback is that a person must keep taking them and a person might not see immediate results. This, coupled with a fitness regime to build underlying muscular tissue will improve oneÂ’s posture as well.

Absolutely no good if wishing for those enormous Jordan style bazookas needless to say!
