(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 17, 2007 ) Orange, CA -- For the fourth year in a row, St. John’s Lutheran Church of Orange will host the SEEDS Fine Art Exhibit during the Orange International Street Fair, August 31-September 9. This year’s exhibit, "Out of the Ashes," will celebrate the lives, faith and art of five notable Southern California artists who have recently passed away - Jana Dierking, photography; Ray Friesz, action paintings; Prof. Herman H. Graff, drawings & paintings; Stan D. Sinnett, western art; and Roger Tait, printworks. Jana Dierking, a victim of cancer, reveals a world of God’s delicate beauty. Ray Friesz, also a victim of cancer, was a celebrated mentor to many southern Californian artists. His artwork dazzles with the inimitable style and inspiring power of plein air action painting. Prof Herman H. Graff from CSULB had a long productive career teaching generations of new artists. He revisited the subject of “The Deposition of Christ” many times over 20 years. 20 of his insightful drawings as well as a group of large abstract paintings will be on display. Stan D. Sinnett, an adult education teacher in Whittier and Downey for 30 years, blends his Christian faith with his Blackfoot Indian culture in his drawings, paintings, and fine arts. Roger Tait, after having a stroke, was unable to continue creating beautiful furniture and cabinetry. When his wife and helpmate, Miriam, put his Dremel tool in his hand, a calm would descend on him, enabling him to draw with it on Plexiglas plates. He would then get into the ink “up to the elbows” in an effort to literally “put his handprint” on each stirring print which chronicles his relationship with God. The exhibit will also be open for curator-led tours from Tuesday, September 4 through Friday, September 7, 2007. These 30-minute tours are held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day and have become very popular with local schools and groups. Call Shannon Beshara at 714 288-4477 to make a reservation."Out of the Ashes" will host a reception for the families of the artists on Friday Sept 7th at 7:00 pm in the “gallery” of Fellowship Hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church Orange, CA. St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at Shaffer and Chapman. In addition, the sale of all artworks is available privately through each artist’s family and will go directly to help the surviving members.SEEDS Fine Arts Exhibits, a 2006 grant recipient from The Grove Foundation for the Arts, is located at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Orange, 154 S.
