Atimal works as the Afghani Consul-General in Dubai. Ali Bin Redha is the CEO of Global Village.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place, those in attendance turned to the pavilion and were ushered toward a concert organized by the Pavilion, which was held in the GV's World Culture Stage. Abdullah Morqori, one of Afghanistan's most popular singers, was the featured attraction.
The Pavilion represents a country well known for its vast mountain ranges, valleys, and historically strategic location. The country is also well known for its steadfast potential for a self-sufficient economy, thanks in the most part to its livestock and agricultural land.
Leather products decorated with simple designs were showcased at the pavilion as a way to express the country's fine product.
Afghanistan is long known for its various agricultural product, and this year's harvest is being showcased at the Afghanistan Pavilion. The exhibits will include mountain almonds, pistachios, pine, walnuts, and dried berries (black and white). There will also be apricots, figs, and raisins.
Carpet weaving is another old-world tradition that will be displayed, and many in the carpet world still prize Afghani carpets among the best when it comes to the fine art.
The wool and silk purity of the Afghani makers as well as the eco-minded colors that are derived from pomegranate, cinnamon, and herbs (and many other natural ingredients) compose a truly masterful final product that is both gorgeous and eco-friendly.
And for anyone attending the affair, a chance to try a bottle of mountain honey is a must, along with the natural suck sugar with saffron, which lends an experience that is hard to find anywhere else.
