(EstateNewsWire.com, January 17, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Firefighters were called to a Calgary man's home after he found a snake in his luggage following his return from India, where he had been on vacation.
The snake was reported as a half-meter long, and crawling along his carpet. The man told firefighters he had simply been unpacking his luggage over the last couple of days, and had spotted the serpent on his living room carpet, Thursday. When he saw the snake, he ran directly out of his condo and called 911.
The Firefighters helped him search his home, unsure of what exactly it was they were going to be dealing with, as the man only had a foggy description of the reptile. They scoured the house for a couple hours and were unable to locate the snake.
That despite setting up rather elaborate traps, according to Fire Battalion Chief Larry Fisher.
“We’ve cooled down the room and placed a heater in the middle of the room and put flour down so we can track the thing. They have searched every inch of the place and have yet to find him,’” he told CTV Calgary Thursday.
A professional pest control specialist was called in to assist with the capture, but it could not locate the snake either. The control employee checked the condo thoroughly in order to assure the man it was safe to sleep in his bed. The company did leave behind several traps, but the snake has, to this date, not been caught.
