SoBellas Las Cruces Furnace Installers Offer Opportunity to Save Big Before New Law Goes into Effect

(EstateNewsWire.com, February 13, 2013 ) Las Cruces NM – Anyone needing a new furnace installed after May 1, 2013 might face much greater expense due to new energy laws. The current standard is 80 percent efficiency, but the new proposed law will require a furnace with at least 90 percent efficiency. Not only will these units cost significantly more money but they will lead to higher furnace installation costs as well. Any heating and cooling contractor selling the older models will be breaking the law and face prosecution.

The higher efficiency models might sound good to conscious homeowners who are concerned with protecting our environment, but they come at a high price. According to local furnace installers newer models will vent from the side and produce condensation which will cause an existing venting system to rust away. This means extensive pipe restructuring and relocation will be necessary to install a new furnace, requiring drywall work and painting.

In order to unload their inventory of old furnace stock, sobellas (http://www.sobellas.com/) is offering a big discount on the standard 80 percent efficiency furnaces while it is still legal to install them in homes. “This is a great opportunity for consumers to save a lot of money,” said owner, Mike LaBeau. “Consumers stand to lose if they wait until May to replace the furnace.”

The good news is there is a new proposed settlement that could rescind the above regional standards for residential gas furnaces. The Department of Energy has agreed to withdraw the pending minimum energy requirement for the higher efficiency standards for residential gas furnaces. The settlement is not final and still must be accepted by the court.

Anyone with an old furnace that might need to be replaced within the next year should contact SoBellas now to save money. Though new furnace installation is an expensive investment, a delay could increase the price significantly while only increasing efficiency by 10 percent. The discount for new furnace installation will be available only until SoBellas sells out of their current stock of 80 percent efficiency furnaces.

Consumers can visit the Las Cruces Heating and Cooling Repair website to read the complete article about the new laws regarding 90% efficiency furnaces and then decide if they should replace their old furnace now rather than wait.
