Stubborn Sign on Town Hall Wall Perplexes Maintenance reports Spray Away

(EstateNewsWire.com, February 15, 2013 ) Holstebro, Denmark -- A new graffiti artist has stumped the town maintenance staff with his/her work on the Town Hall building, which can't be good news for those who wish to curtail such activities in the youth.

Over the weekend, someone has scrawled the words “Nobody can fix me if I'm part of the problem” in all capital letters and in white pant across the building. Since then, there has been no one able to clean it off.

Now the town is looking into hiring a masonry company that will be set to clean the message off with a sandblaster, after a topical benzene product, paint thinner, floor stripper, and wire brush, all failed to do the job they were supposed to do.

"We’ve tried four different graffiti products," said Dave Daltorio, the town engineer and facilities coordinator. "We stopped short of straight turpentine.”

The crew also attempted to use a power washer, which had little success in handling the message scrawled across the wall. Daltorio stated that he does not know how much the professional cleaning will cost, but estimates that it could be anywhere between $1,500 to $2,500 when all is said and done.

A quick Google search noted that the graffiti message was from a song called “Believe” by the Hollywood Undead. Another line of the song says “I should've seen the writing on the wall. Instead I'm left to fall. Cause the longer I'm Away. The More we stay the same.”

Michael Santosuosso was the first to attempt to tackle the “wall art”. Santosuosso is the facilities new maintenance worker, and he stated that he spent a few hours attempting to scrub out the message, with no true success. The sign simply would not budge, but instead started to smudge up.

"The last thing you want to do is make it worse," Daltorio said.
