(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 05, 2008 ) Romania - TheMoveChannel.com, the leading international property portal, announces a number of new properties in Romania:
· Vila Iulia (£23,880 to £51,690, 1 bed apartment, swimming pool, nearby beach)
· Apartment in Constanta (£34,070, studio flat, potential yields of 10-12%, 20% guaranteed rental return)
Properties in Romania are unlikely to be an investment opportunity UK investors have considered in the past, so TheMoveChannel.com provides an overview of Romania.
The area of the Black Sea Coast in Romania is one of the most visited areas in Eastern Europe, attracting national and international visitors by the bus load.
Stretching from Danube Delta in the north, down to the Black Sea Riviera in Bulgaria in the south, the Black Sea Coast offers an array of wonderful resorts and lovely beaches.
The biggest and most popular resort in the region is Mamaia, which is known as the ‘The Pearl of the Romanian Riviera.’ Mamaia is one of Romania’s oldest seaside resorts, dating back to the beginning of the 20th Century.
Mamaia is a strip of land between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol, well-known for having the finest sand and the smoothest beach along the entire Romanian sea coast, stretching for five miles. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and especially suited for families with young children.
Mamaia is situated north-east of the city of Constanţa, which is the capital of the area and one of RomaniaÂ’s largest cities.
Constanţa is an ancient city, full of mythical stories, wonderful museums and Ovidiu Square, which was named after the famous Latin poet Ovidius Publius Naso, who came to live in Constanţa in 8 A.D.
Two other popular places are Costineşti and Vama Veche. Costineşti is a busy destination, mainly occupied by hordes of students.
Vama Veche is an old fishing village, which over the decades has gained a reputation as an area for intellectuals, artists and actors, who find sanctuary in the secluded and serene surroundings of the city.
The Black Sea coast is also renowned for its numerous therapeutic spas, which have been used to ease arthritic, rheumatic, internal and nervous co nditions. Eforie Nord and Mangalia Spas specialise in mineral-rich mud baths - taken from the area's salty lake waters - as well as the world famous Romanian Gerovital and Aslavital original rejuvenation treatments.
Although the area is not well known for its cuisine, some of the offerings are delectable. Zakuska, which is a traditional spread made from roasted eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes, is very popular local dish. Almost all Romanians enjoy mamaliga (polenta) and tripe soup is a particular specialty along the Black Sea coast, which apparently tastes better than it sounds!
The Romanian Black Sea Coast beautifully blends the old with the new. Historical sites and ancient monuments, together with the traditional culture of the region, merge with all the modern facilities offered by the splendid resorts.
Dan Johnson, Managing Director, comments:
“Romania’s Black Sea region is home to ancient legends, dead poets, healing spas and stunning coastlines, placing this Romanian Riviera right up there with the best that the Med has to offer.”
