(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 09, 2009 ) The Truth about Getting A Degree Online.
Are online degrees accepted by employers?
Is this true of a masters degree online, MBA degrees online, as well as a online bachelors degree?
Does getting a degree online give you the same education that attending a brick and mortar institution?
Will getting a degree make you more marketable in this recession?
According to a recent survey at www.Degree.com the answers are YES, YES, YES and YES.
"Nine years ago fewer than 40% of the employers we surveyed felt that an online degree would produce a student equal to one who attended a brick and mortar institution," said Sheila Danzig, director of Degree.com.
"Last month we found that virtually all employers felt that they would consider a graduate of an online program was equal to a graduate of a brick and mortar institution. The most important consideration is that they be accredited online degrees." Danzig continued, "If you do not have legitimate accreditation your degree will be worthless. That is why www.degree.com only lists regionally accredited US programs."
Regional accreditation is considered the gold standard of accreditation. Online degrees also allow you to work at your own pace and complete a degree in far less time than attending classes. Many degrees allow you to never enter a classroom so you have no time spent traveling to or from classes. You can also work on your own schedule. Add to that the recent full acceptance of an online degree and you now have the perfect answer to the recession. Make yourself marketable for any job with a degree no matter what the economy does.
