(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 10, 2009 ) Baltimore - For Charles Blair, the road to being one of BaltimoreÂ’s premiere real estate investors hasnÂ’t always been a smooth one. He was born and raised in the projects of East Baltimore, and dropped out of high school in grade nine. After spending a number of years trying to make a living (including a stint as a door-to-door Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman in the dead of winter), Charles was taken on by a local real estate investor. Though the job was modest, Charles was exposed to the exciting world of real estate investing, and he was hooked! Fifteen years later, with 300 property transactions to his name, Charles is now one of the foremost experts in the Baltimore Real Estate Investing field.
In addition to his successful investment company, Charles runs a number of educationally oriented enterprises, including “The Real Deal Investor”, a monthly meet-up dedicated to discussing cutting-edge real estate topics, hosting a weekly radio show on real estate investing that's featured on 88.9 FM and 1010 AM in Baltimore, and “Aspire America”, a real estate education group with over 280 students across Maryland.
“Real Estate Investing changed my life”, says Charles. “When I took my first job in Real Estate Investing, I was being paid $50 a week – plus lunch – but I had never been part of something so exciting before. I wanted to learn everything about the industry, and eight months later I branched out on my own.” Having been a successful industry leader for fifteen years, Mr. Blair is now making sure that education becomes a leading focus of his time. “I know the big impact real estate has made on my life, and that’s why it’s so important to me to share some of the lessons I’ve learned over my career. My biggest hope is that others will be able to find the excitement and enjoyment in real estate that I’ve found”.
Which is what led to the creation of “The Real Deal Investor”, a monthly meet-up for real estate investors. In these meetings, attendees discuss such topics as Wholesaling, Rehabbing, Pre-Foreclosures, Tax Liens, and Short Sales. With hundreds of members, this meeting is growing to become one of the most influential monthly real estate meetings in Baltimore. Mr. Blair’s commitment to education also extends to “Aspire America”, a company that he founded with Rob Bostick. Dedicated to real estate investment education, “Aspire America” started off with a modest 16 students, but has now grown to over 280 strong. In addition to the two above ventures, Charles is deeply involved with the Baltimore Real Estate Investment Association, where he combines his love of real estate with his passion for marketing as their Marketing Director.
CharlesÂ’s commitment to education goes beyond helping others develop their real estate skills. As an Internet Marketing expert, Charles has traveled the country speaking to a wide variety of companies on how they can harness the positive power of the Internet for their businesses. More specifically to real estate investors, Charles has hosted a variety of seminars teaching them how to use specialized online services and tools to grow the profitability of their business.
