Saratoga Springs, NY - ACH Payments announces the release of their Token solution for electronic check transactions over the ACH network. Gene Krause, V.P. of Business Development says “We have recently released an ACH Payment Tokenization solution. This platform uses the same technology as our PCI compliant credit card solutions. Merchants now have access to the most secure methods available for handling both ACH and credit card data. All of our methods of data transport for electronic checks, including API integration methods, Web based Virtual Terminal and Secure Web Pay products are now capable of replacing transmitted bank account data with a reference token.”
While methods of transmitting and storing bank account data via the ACH network do not fall under the PCI Security Standards Council standards that credit card transactions do, a company transmitting and storing bank data is not free of fraud risks. Companies who do not take similar measures that the PCI SSC requires for credit card transactions, are open to having their customerÂ’s bank data compromised, and leaving their credibility at risk in the eyes of their clientele. And if their clientele is composed of businesses, the protection for business checking accounts is not the same as consumer accounts.
ACH Payments has solutions for all methods of ACH transfer, including batch transfer that replaces bank account data, eliminating all stored bank account information from client servers and databases. However, search capabilities are not compromised by employing the token solution. Customer transaction searches can still be performed by the client via a number of methods, including last four digit account number query. Eliminating this stored bank account data not only protects the client from cyber intrusion, but also from the risk of bank data theft from internal personnel should the client be using legacy software that is integrated via API to transmit their ACH transactions.
