The event works with local real estate investors and helps educate them with real estate strategies and marketing approaches and was held at the Marriot in Southfield.
Not only did Scruggs give many real estate investing tips, he also gave some really strong general success tips.
Ijlal introduced Scruggs as one of the few people who always finish a conversation with him and makes him feel smarter. He likened it to sharpening a knife but with DarrickÂ’s mind, instead.
Darrick Scruggs emphasized to people attending that failure is not bad, but you have to make sure that you learn from it. He pointed out that most people are afraid of feeling uncomfortable, but to be successful, you need to be okay feeling uncomfortable. As a true entrepreneur, you will not have the same guarantees that some employers can give. There is not any guaranteed income or health benefits.
However, in exchange for those benefits, employees trade freedom and flexibility. They also trade huge income potential.
To the real estate investors in the crowd, he stressed that you can do a lot of successful property flips if you have rehab crews and access to good property management. Many end home buyers need to know that they can easily rent the property, because their greatest fear is that they will owe bills on a vacant property.
Darrick pointed out that now is a great time to buy homes for sale in Farmington Hills MI and other places throughout the Metro Detroit Area and the city. The property prices are low. The property taxes are low. Also, many repairs are cheaper now, because many people doing repairs are hungry with less work available.
Scruggs said that if you plan to have Section 8 tenants, you should know the Section 8 guidelines. If your property is in an area that has a lot of Section 8 tenants, you should still be aware of them, because many of your landlord buyers might want to rent to Section 8 tenants.
A lot of people attending were concerned with getting money from investors to begin to keep their real estate investing business running. Scruggs said that the most important thing is to believe in yourself. Creating a credibility kit that showcases your ability to handle investorsÂ’ money properly will really help you, too.
