 (EMAILWIRE.COM, November 13, 2011 ) NEW YORK, NY - Michael Crichton, the world renowned author of such classics as “Jurassic Park” and “The Andromeda Strain” is about to release another book three years after his death in 2008. The new Michael Crichton book “Micro” is his second posthumous novel, following the release of “Pirate Latitudes.” It is a high concept thriller about science gone wrong.
Michael Crichton was only able to finish about a third of the Micro novel before his untimely passing. The remainder of the book is written by another well known author Richard Preston, whose work includes best-selling novel “The Hot Zone.” Preston was able to complete the Micro book, because Crichton left behind plenty of notes, reference material and an outline. According to Preston, he took on the project, because “For me, it was an irresistible challenge to finish the novel, and I was driven by a desire to honor the work and imagination of one of our time’s most visionary and creative authors.”
Micro is a story about a group of graduate students working for a mysterious biotech company in Hawaii, and how they end up stranded in the rain forest forced to fend for themselves. The upcoming book is published by HarperCollins. They announced that the Micro Michael Crichton book will be officially released on November 22, 2011.
