(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 24, 2007 ) Sacramento, CA – “The American Latina” is the first video program now being broadcast through the internet on www.calmagazine.com, Channel 3. Primarily targeted to Latinas living in the United States, this program profiles Latina leaders, featuring their stories and accomplishments through a 20-minute video. “I’m really excited to be able to bring such an important resource for Latinas to the web,” says Olga Scrosati, Executive Producer of “The American Latina.” “Our intent is to produce a series of videos that highlight accomplishments made by Latinas in the U.S. covering government, history, business, social services, health, and education,” adds Scrosati. The first video introduces viewers to Rosario Marin, a former U.S. Treasurer appointed by President George W. Bush; Dr. Mildred Garcia, newly appointed President of California State University, Dominguez Hills; and Womanaire Extrodinaire Founder Tina Hiatt. Ms. Marin discusses her recently published book “Leading Between Two Worlds,” an autobiography about being born Mexican and growing up to become the U.S. Treasurer. Dr. Garcia emphasizes the curricula now offered to Latinos at CSU, Dominguez Hills. And, Ms. Hiatt discusses the benefits of her business to Latinas and others interested in becoming business owners. “Our format is designed to allow our viewers to submit videos featuring a prominent Latina for inclusion in the “American Latina” video program,” says Scrosati. “This is a good way to cover all corners of the U.S. and allow Latinas from all facets, known our unknown, local or national, to be given credit for their work. We’re also looking for sponsors to help defray the costs of producing these videos.” For more information on “The American Latina” internet viewers are encouraged to send an email to Olga Scrosati at info@calmagazine.com.Adrian Perezwww.calmagazine.comTel: (916) 396-4053
