(EstateNewsWire.com, September 22, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- Black paint covered Sheriff Deputy Cole Thon’s motto of “To resist drugs and violence” on his D.A.R.E vehicle, a 2007 Saturn Sky. The cost to repaint the car as well as replace the windows and hub caps will be thousands of dollars.
South Ogden Police believe that this vandalism is connected to another incident in which “F---- Cops” was written on the garage door of a Weber County Sheriff Deputy.
“As far as we are aware, no other property in the area has been vandalized” South Ogden said Officer Matt Thompson.
Standard-Examiner reports that Thon has parked his D.A.R.E. vehicle in his driveway after returning home from a school carnival late Friday night.
The car was donated by Saturn of Riverdale and has been used in many parades and safety fairs sponsored by the community.
Davis County Sheriff Todd Richardson said he will meet with deputies and administrators on Monday to discuss how to keep deputies safe at their homes.
