(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 25, 2008 ) Troy, MI -- Taking out the trash is so common that is usually done with little or no thought. However All Waste, LLC wants to make everyone aware of the dangers that exist. All Waste is the leading garbage removal and dumpster rental service in Michigan. Their founder and president, Mr. Sherman Rogers has set list of speaking engagements to address the growing liability risks he has encountered and the action you need to take to avoid making costly mistakes. In the month of June, Mr. Sherman Rogers will be speaking at Local Community College events and at National Real Estate Network meetings in Livonia, Michigan.
Among the topics to be covered are the hazards of what is commonly referred to as “Dumpster Diving”. Dumpster diving is searching through industrial commercial or residential dumpster trash to find items that have been discarded by their owners that may be of value to the dumpster diver. Dumpster divers commonly use the cover of night to raid the trash, which increases their risk of injury. Many times sites will have dangerous chemicals such as battery acid or lead and even toxic material like asbestos in their rubbish.
“It concerns me when I see a business that is not using a secure trash system, or they are hiring haulers without the proper insurance”, Sherman said. “You never know what someone has put in the dumpster that could cause serious injury to the individual, like broken glass or caustic chemicals. With the downward turn in the economy, people do risky things to salvage whatever scrap that may be worth money but the risk far out weighs the reward.”
Mr. Sherman offers valuable advice to consumers and trash handlers, “Garbage dumpsters and trash cans may contain junk with sharp edges like broken glass and metal objects. Handling trash in a safe manner will help us avoid getting cuts and punctures. Don't press down on trash with your hands or feet especially when you don't know what objects are in the rubbish. Lift carefully; get a good grip and make sure your hands are dry before lifting. If the trash is heavy or if there’s big pieces of debris, get help before lifting. Don't block doorways, elevators, stairwells or access to safety and emergency equipment, such as fire alarms and extinguishers, with trash bags. Place a piece of cardboard down if you need to place trash bags inside a building before taking them to a dumpster. This will help to protect the floor from any leakage.”
All Waste serves the greater metropolitan Detroit area, providing rubbish and trash removal. They service all sites including construction, industrial and commercial such as shopping centers, malls and restaurants. They can also accommodate residential sites with 10 to 40 foot dumpsters with open top and rear door swing.
Over the past decade All Waste has worked to continue the good name they have earned. Their radio dispatch units enable them to respond to their customers quickly and professionally for jobs like demolition, remodeling waste removal and basement cleanup. They exceed others in trash compactor sales and dumpster rentals. They even do yard cleaning, appliance removal, trash and rubbish collection.
